JOURNAL II
"Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truely endless." Mother Teresa
My grandma would always say to me, "If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't go anywhere. "
I was only in the seventh grade when these words were said to me, but I still can remember these words very clearly as if it were yesterday.
In the seven grade, I had a little understanding of what the quote meant, but I knew that behind every phrase my grandmother would tell me there was always a meaning.
In my freshmen year of high school, I realized that the people I hung around would only lead me down the wrong path. While in my first year of high school, I felt as if I wanted to fit in with everyone else.
My great grandmother would always say ,"If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life, and with confidence, you have won even before you have started."
I started my year off wrong, not attending my classes, and doing everything my friends would do because they thought it was cool.
At the end of my freshmen year I ended up pregnant , I then thought everything was impossible. If only I could take back time I would start over. As a teen mother in high school ,failure is not an option.
